Clear voice pickup

A custom-designed eight-microphone array

QuietPort technology

The soundbar’s recessed ports use a piece of resistant screen to reduce noise while getting more sound through a smaller opening. The result? Virtually distortion-free bass from a slim profile.

Elegant lightbar

Not sure Alexa heard you? An ingenious light bar helps indicate when Alexa is listening, thinking or speaking.

PhaseGuide technology

Proprietary PhaseGuide technology works with tiny transducers to direct beams of multi-directional sound, delivering an unprecedented level of spaciousness. You’ll feel like sound is coming from places outside your soundbar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely! A few weeks ago I visited a local electronics store and demoed the Bose SoundBar 700. I stood in awe as the music played with the volume cranked up very loud. People in that section of the store turned their heads and stared when a fellow customer walked up next to me and began to exclaim “Oh my goodness!” over and over again. The stranger stood there with me for several minutes as we both gawked at this Bose home theatre system. He joked that we could split the cost and I could have the SoundBar on weekends! I am not sure if that man ever made the purchase, but here I am a few weeks latter and I find myself a proud owner of the Bose SoundBar 300 with the bass module. I wanted to take the time to review the system thoroughly simply because I love good sound and am very particular about my home theatre. So, here are some thoughts of my experience with the 700 so far… SOUND The sound is very spacious for a sound bar. Seriously, we have a large(ish) living room and the sound spreads out WIDE! We can hear sounds eight feet from either direction of the actual bar. It is uncanny how well this simulates the left and right surround channels where there are no physical speakers. The quality of the sound is also very CRISP and detailed. Every frequency is well represented and you will hear details of your favorite movies or music that you likely never new were there. On the downside, the sound is a little too crisp to my taste. I suspect that the sound system is tuned purposefully tilted towards clarity, but I prefer just a tad more warmth. Don’t get me wrong, this Bose is still very rich and meaty and I am getting used to it. It is just leans towards being just a minute bit sterile. Still, this iBose is much better than the overly muddy sound signature that most other home theatre systems produce. The bass is very good on its on, but when you add the Bass Module it tightens up quite a bit. The bass is very CLEAN and powerful enough to feel it in your chest. Whatever Bose does with their Quiet Port technology - it works. I have never owned a sub near this size that is so distortion free yet powerful. Very great! REMOTE Bose has debuted a new very unique universal remote with the 700. The uniqueness is found in the fact that the buttons selectively light up so that you see only the buttons that you need for any particular source. When I press the source button programed for my tv, only the needed tv buttons light up. I used the app to also program the remote to control my Apple TV. When I press that source button, the lights change so that I am seeing only the few controls that I need for the Apple TV. Really cool! I also love that the remote is programmed through the Bose Music app on my phone. Gone are the days of pressing a complicated sequence of remote buttons to program it to work with other devices. I just followed instructions on the app and it automatically programed the remote to control all my devices. MICROPHONES The 700 comes with Alexa built in and I read somewhere that Bose will add other voice assistants in time. I will not be going into detail about Alexa, but I wanted to mention the SoundBar’s ability to hear and recognize voice. Wow, is it GREAT! Alexa can hear me and correctly understand me almost every single time. The other day we were watching a family movie and had the volume cranked up to high movie theatre levels. My son used a normal voice to say, “Alexa” and immediately the movie volume softened and Alexa responded. This is the norm with this sound bar! The 700 hears us from anywhere in our large living area and she often even hears us from the other room. So yes, the microphones are fantastic. Another great aspect about the microphones is that they can be turned off. I trust Bose and Alexa to keep our privacy, but there are times when I prefer there not to be an internet connected device always listening in the room. This is the first smart speaker we have ever owned where you can turn off the microphones by a simple touch on the device. Thank you Bose! CONCLUSION There is much more to be said about the Bose SoundBar 700. The AdaptIQ was easy to use and calibrated the sound nicely to our room. The subtle light bar on the speaker is innovative and a useful way to tell what the bar is doing. The lighter is not intrusive. The genius is in its subtlety. The wifi connection has been very consistent for us. It has never dropped and it even automatically reconnected itself after a power outage. The Bose Music App just works and is simple though deep in that you can adjust many settings but only if you want to. In the end, this is the system for us and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come. And, I am so glad I the Bose SoundBar 700 doesn’t have to share time between our home and that of the stranger in the store :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beast I recently got an opportunity to review this deadly beast. There is no words to describe when it comes to Music and Bose. You absolutely cannot have anything better than this. Well, that is me always excited about Bose. Now let's start by reviewing this great product. I received this product in a huge box that shipped both the Soundbar 700 and the Bose Bass Module 700. We will talk about the later in a different thread. So the soundbar 700 comes in a pretty elegant box. The soundbar 700 is an absolutely stunning black, glass finish on top which looks beautiful in your living room. The product includes: 1. Universal Remote 2. HDMI Cable 3. Batteries ( 4 Nos ) 4. ADAPTIQ Headset 5. Power Cord 6. Cleaning Cloth 7. Optical Cable The product is easy to install. Just plug in the powercord along with Ethernet Adapter and you are ready to go. Optionally you can perform Calibration using the ADAPTIQ Headset. Calibration can be performed by using the Bose app from your play store. This is a must have app to control all functionalities including the addition of bose bass module 700. You can authorize apps like Spotify and others to have a seamless experience of music. So, I started playing some music and it had an exceptional sound quality. I liked the adjustment feature that was provided in the Bose app to control the Bass, Treble etc. The "Dialogue Mode" feature on the app delivers exceptional quality when listening to movies and you can hear the crisp and clear sound with every details on it. I love this product as of now and would continue to find out more about this great product. Cons: There is no integration with Apple and Google Music from the Bose app. Although Bluetooth can be used to deliver music. I would love to have that functionality.

How is the Bose Soundbar 700 soundbar different from the Bose Solo 5 TV sound system?

The Solo 5 system is designed primarily to provide better TV sound with an emphasis on dialogue. It greatly improves your TV sound and helps with dialogue intelligibility. The Solo 5 system does not include any built-in virtual assistant functionality. The Bose Soundbar 700 does that and much more—including Amazon Alexa voice control built in. It provides a wide soundstage (a lot wider than the bar itself) and brings your music and movies to life by immersing you in the sound. You will hear sounds coming from places where there are no physical speakers. The Bose Soundbar 700 also includes ADAPTiQ audio calibration technology, which adjusts the sound of the soundbar to best fit your room, no matter the shape or furnishings. So it always sounds its best.

Can the Bose Soundbar 700 be mounted to the wall?

Yes. The optional new Bose Soundbar Wall Bracket lets you mount the soundbar flush to the wall.

How do I run the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system with the Bose Soundbar 700?

ADAPTiQ is part of the overall setup process and driven through the Bose Music app. You will be prompted to run ADAPTiQ after you download the Bose Music app and start the setup process. If you skip running ADAPTiQ during the initial setup process—or change your room significantly after initially running ADAPTiQ—you can go back into the app and do it again. Initiate ADAPTiQ and follow the prompts in the app.

How do I connect a Bluetooth® device with the Bose Soundbar 700?

Press and hold the Bluetooth® source button on the remote for several seconds (the light will flash on the Bose Soundbar 700 remote). Ensure that your mobile device is in pairing mode and select the Bose Soundbar 700 from the list. You also can pair your mobile device to the soundbar using the Bose Music app.

Does the Bose Soundbar 700 have NFC technology for Bluetooth® pairing?

What type of remote is included with the Bose Soundbar 700?

The Bose Soundbar 700 comes with a new backlit universal remote control. Line of sight is not required between the remote and the soundbar because it does not use IR. Instead, the remote uses Bluetooth® Low Energy to communicate with the soundbar and then the soundbar blasts IR commands to control your other devices.

How does the Bose Soundbar 700 connect to my TV?

The simplest way to connect the Bose Soundbar 700 is via the supplied HDMI cable to your TV. If your TV has an HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC connection, you should use that connection. If your TV does not have an HDMI connection, then you should connect the Bose Soundbar 700 to the TV using the optical cable (supplied with the Bose Soundbar 700).

How do I control other devices with the Bose Soundbar 700 remote controls?

There are two ways to control other devices: HDMI-CEC and IR. The soundbar may be able to control connected devices (TV, Blu-ray Disc™ player, games console) over HDMI-CEC. This allows you to turn on other devices and operate them with the soundbar remote without any programming. It also enables one-touch access to entertainment, enabling you to turn on multiple devices and select an input with a single touch of a button. However, not all devices respond to these commands. In particular, cable and satellite boxes may not respond to HDMI commands. The customer still can control devices that do not respond to HDMI commands by programming the Bose Soundbar Universal Remote (included with the Bose Soundbar 700).

Does the Bose Soundbar 700 have HDMI-eARC capability?

What placement guidelines should be considered to ensure optimal audio performance from the Bose Soundbar 700?

The Bose Soundbar 700 uses the reflective surfaces of the room to deliver a spacious home cinema experience. To ensure optimal audio performance, the soundbar should be placed equidistant from each side wall and directly in the front centre of the TV. No objects should be placed in front of the soundbar and it should not be placed recessed inside a cabinet, as this will result in a limited soundstage.

Can source devices, such as a cable box, iPod, gaming system etc., be connected directly to the Bose Soundbar 700?

No. All sources must be connected to the TV and then a single connection (via the HDMI or optical cable) must be made from the TV to the soundbar.

Can I use my streaming music presets from the Bose Music app with the Bose Soundbar 700?

Yes. The Bose Soundbar 700 uses presets via the Bose Music app and the remote control.

Can you mix and match the wireless bass modules and soundbars?

Yes. The Bose Soundbar 500, Bose Soundbar 700, Bose Bass Module 500 and Bose Bass Module 700 all use the same wireless protocols and can be mixed and matched (e.g. a Bose Soundbar 700 can be wirelessly paired with a Bose Bass Module 500 or a Bose Soundbar 500 with a Bose Bass Module 700). However, the design language and materials of the Bose Soundbar 500 and the Bose Soundbar 700 product lines were designed to complement products in the same class (e.g. Bose Soundbar 500 products together and Bose Soundbar 700 products together). So, the glass on the Bose Soundbar 700 products looks more complementary together than if you mixed one Bose Soundbar 500 product with a Bose Soundbar 700 product.
