QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds offer our most premium design and most advanced technologies for the best Bose listening experience in an earbud. With our QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, you will enjoy our most personalized listening experience, with CustomTune technology and our best earbud noise cancellation, audio quality, and voice pickup. In addition, you’ll have access to our highest quality features, including customizable listening modes, Spotify Tap, SimpleSync (for use with compatible Bose soundbars/speakers), Snapdragon Sound, and Google Fast Pair (for compatible Android devices).

Our QuietComfort Earbuds offer a great everyday listening experience, with sound that is powerful, not precious, and feature excellent noise cancellation. In addition, with our QuietComfort Earbuds you get customizable shortcuts and voice command via the Bose QCE app.

The Bose QCE app has been designed to work with our Bose QuietComfort Earbuds. With this app you get the same standard features of the Bose App: EQ adjustment, adjustable ANC, Voice Assistant, Tap Control Customization, Custom Product Naming, Update Notifications; plus, additional features including: Listening & Call Battery Prediction, Remote Selfie, and Voice Command.

Smart calls refer to several features of the QuietComfort Earbuds:

  • Voice Commands: Answer/reject phone calls through voice control.
  • Side Tones: Hear yourself speak on calls or in-game chats with adjustable voice amplification. This can be turned on or off in the Smart Calls feature card of the Bose QCE app.
  • Activate Announce Calls: This allows you to hear the caller’s name whenever you get a call. Directions to enable are in the Smart Calls feature card of the Bose QCE app.
  • Touch Controls: Touch Controls for calls can be customized in the Smart Calls feature card of the Bose QCE app.

When enabled, Voice ID allows you to calibrate your headphones to your own unique voice to improve performance and accuracy of Voice Control. To set up Voice ID, select Start Calibration in the Voice Control feature card of the Bose QCE app. This will walk you through a quick process to set up Voice ID. After calibrating Voice ID you can choose to enable or disable Voice ID in the Bose QCE app.

Single tap, double tap, triple tap, and press and hold are all configurable buttons in the Bose QCE app. This can be done through the Touch Controls feature card or within specific product setting feature cards.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds have voice control available in the Bose QCE app. The app needs to be opened, but can be in the background, to use the voice control. Voice control can be used to:

Play and pause music
Skip forward
Skip back
Increase and decrease volume
Change noise control setting
Change spatial audio setting
Take a photo
Access native voice assistant
Answer and end phone calls

Yes, you can use either the left or right bud independently for listening or for phone calls. Controls on your bud will remain as when you are using both buds, and any shortcuts you have set will remain as you have set them. For optimal noise cancelling performance, both buds should be used together.

Yes. You can use a compatible third-party wireless charger (not provided) to charge the case.

When the earbuds are not in the case and the case is not plugged in, the LED colour indicates the charging case battery status:

Solid green (5 seconds): high charge (81 – 100%)
Solid amber (5 seconds): medium charge (30 – 80%)
Solid red (5 seconds): low charge (1 – 29%)

When the earbuds are in the case, but the case is not plugged in, the LED colour indicates the earbuds’ battery status:

Solid green (5 seconds): fully charged
Slowly pulses amber (5 seconds): charging

Yes. Bose QuietComfort Earbuds have an adaptive microphone system that allows you to use them during calls when connected to any smartphone. In addition to traditional calls, the earbuds work with many apps that use Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), such as Teams, Zoom, or FaceTime. The microphone system adapts to your environment to isolate your voice from competing background noises and wind. In addition, self-voice (adjustable in the Bose QCE app settings) allows you to hear yourself naturally, as if you weren’t wearing earbuds at all, so you can monitor the volume of your voice and minimize the effects of speaking while wearing earbuds.

The eartips on the QuietComfort Earbuds and QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are interchangeable, but the stability bands are not due to differences in the mechanical design.

You can use your QuietComfort Earbuds to take a selfie once configured via the Bose QCE app. In the Remote Selfie feature card in the Bose QCE app you can choose to take a photo while wearing your earbuds through voice control and/or by updating one of the gestures. If using voice commands, open your camera app and say “Hey Headphones, Take Photo” and your phone will snap a photo. If using a customized touch control, do this gesture while the camera app is open to take the photo.

Instructions can also be found in the Bose QCE app when you select the Remote Selfie feature card.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds can be connected to a Bose soundbar or speaker as a SimpleSync device; however, they have not been fully optimized for a seamless audio and video Bluetooth connection.

Ratings and Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like them! This product is excellent and I love it so far. Very simple to use and light weight. The controls are very responsive and the awareness mode amplifies your surroundings so you can actually hear what's happening around you. I'm very happy with these and they look and fit great right out the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in class Typical of Bose, the quality, comfort and sound are superb. These are the first earbuds I’ve had that don’t fall out of my ears at random, and I suspect it’s because of the two points of adjustable fitment (ear canal and outer “dish”), which I love. These stay in my ear most of the day and often into the night, and there is no discomfort or ache from having them in for such long periods of time. The “aware” mode is fantastic and it sounds like there is some electronic amplification of the surrounding ambient noise when in aware mode that is necessitated by the nearly perfect seal these buds have in my ears when positioned correctly. Also typical of Bose quality that is on par with the zen-like silence their QC cans can achieve, is their quiet mode. And likewise, listening to music with these remains best in class. On a side-by-side test of calls with my other brands of earbuds and headphones, callers (zoom and over cell) chose these. They’ve also been problem-free pairing with my Apple ecosystem. The only two issues I’ve found are that they don’t handle high wind environments well, though to be fair, none of my other earbuds do either, and I wish there was a lanyard attachment on the case because it would make them easier to find in my bag a/o attach to something for easy grab and go. Gestures are nicely customizable and easy to remember. They charge quickly and I appreciate the additional charges stored in the case. So…these come out at the top of my line-up for me and they’re the ones I now always reach for. Well done Bose!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are powerful upgrades for everyday listening Although these share the same name as the original Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, the 2nd generation brings some notable upgrades. First off, the case design stands out—it’s smaller but slightly thicker than my QuietComfort 2 case due to the removal of the earbud stems. The new matte finish on the case is sleek, and a much-appreciated upgrade is the wireless charging feature, which wasn’t available on the previous model. A key change is the introduction of a dedicated app, Bose QC Earbuds, with a unique "B" and "BCE" logo. This app gives you full control over your earbud experience, offering features like: Noise Control: You can switch between Quiet, Aware, or Off modes either in the app or by voice commands. In general, noise cancellation is excellent, though I did notice that in Quiet mode, wind noise during outdoor walks seemed more pronounced. This may be because the Quiet mode reduces other sounds, making wind noise stand out more—I'll need to test it further. EQ Settings: The default EQ is set to Flat, but there are presets like Bass Boost, Treble Boost, and Custom, allowing you to fine-tune Low, Mid, and High frequencies to your liking. Touch Controls: You can customize Single, Double, and Triple Press, as well as Hold functions for each earbud, giving you complete control over your listening experience. Voice Control: Available in multiple languages (English, Chinese, German, French, and Spanish), you activate commands by saying "Hey Headphones." I had a few issues getting this to work reliably, but it might just be a learning curve. One of the standout features is Multipoint connectivity, which lets you seamlessly connect to two devices at once. Switching between my phone and computer was a breeze, which is incredibly convenient. Other useful features include Fast Mute with touch control, a remote selfie option to control your phone’s camera, and Smart Calls, allowing you to accept or reject calls, use low-latency mode for gaming or movies, and even check battery predictions for how much playtime or talk time you have left. The noise cancellation is top-notch, as expected from Bose. It’s also IPX4 water-resistant, meaning it can handle splashes and light rain—great for daily walks. The earbuds come with three sizes of silicone ear tips and stability bands to ensure a perfect fit. Battery life is solid—8.5 hours on the earbuds alone, or up to 31 hours with the charging case. Fast charging gives you 2 hours of playback with just a 20-minute charge. Overall, these 2nd-gen QuietComfort Earbuds deliver an impressive upgrade with features that rival or surpass other top brands, all while maintaining Bose’s legendary sound quality and noise cancellation. At an affordable price, these everyday earbuds are ideal for anyone, including retirees like me, who enjoy listening to music during daily walks without breaking the bank. Bose nailed it with these—Powerful, not precious, just as they promised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Comfort A FANTASTIC feel. These really live up to the name. More comfortable than other earbuds I've had. And the Bose sound quality doesn't disappoint. It's what I've come to expect in the best possible way. Clear hi-fi with an impactfull bass that doesn't overwhelm. I've used these working out and there wasn't any issues with them in a spring environment. The noise cancelation works excellent. I normally don't recommend apps, but with these you'd totally want to get the QCE app to help better customize your buds. While I can't praise these guys enough in every category, I think the best part is the price. From the quality, I would've guessed these would cost more than double what Bose is selling them for. Which is great, because now there's an earbud on the market that's super high quality and is actually affordable. Highly recommend
