Sherwin was the project engineer for the Bose 901 speaker system, the company’s most successful home speaker product.


Sherwin Greenblatt is Director Emeritus for the Bose Board of Directors. He actively served on the Board from 2014 until 2022. A company co-founder and the first person hired by Dr. Amar Bose in 1964, Sherwin held numerous positions over his career, including project engineer, chief engineer, director of engineering, and executive vice president. He also served as Bose president for 15 years.


From 2005 to 2007, Sherwin was the executive vice president and treasurer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. And in 2008 – 2009, he was interim executive VP and CEO of the MIT Alumni Association. Sherwin also volunteers as director of the MIT Venture Mentoring Service, which supports innovation and entrepreneurial activity throughout the MIT community. A student of Dr. Bose, Sherwin earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from MIT.
